The National Immunisation Advisory Committee (NIAC) has recommended changes to the Primary Childhood Immunisation Schedule for babies born on or after 1st of October 2024.
The changes are as follows:
- removal of Men C at the 6-month visit,
- addition of Varicella vaccine at the 12-month visit
- removal of Hib/MenC at the 13-month visit, with the addition of a Men C dose and a 6 in 1 (DTaP/IPV/Hib/Hep B) dose at this visit

The National Immunisation Office is working with partners towards implementation of these changes, pending agreement. Agreement will be required with GPs to implement changes to the programme.
